On June 16th, domestic workers and their supporters around the world will unite in celebration of International Domestic Workers Day! Every year on this day, we celebrate the adoption of ILO Convention #189 – the Domestic Workers Convention, which enshrines labour rights for domestic workers in international law. This was a major victory for domestic workers everywhere!
On June 16th we will officially launch the #OurHands social media campaign.
We invite all domestic workers, and all who stand in solidarity with domestic workers, to use Facebook, Twitter, and any other social media platform to share messages and images in solidarity with domestic workers!
On this day, we will also reveal our new campaign logo, based on the winning entry to our campaign logo contest.
